FORT WORTH, TX — SMU’s offense showed firepower but came up short, losing 35-24 to TCU in the 104th and final Iron Skillet game. Redshirt junior QB Kevin Jennings threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns, spreading the ball to 10 different receivers. His scoring drives included TDs to Matthew Hibner, Yamir Knight, and Jordan Hudson, marking the team’s seventh under-two-minute drive of the season.
Yamir Knight led with five catches for 69 yards and a score, while Romello Brinson added 51 yards. Despite the loss, SMU remains 21-3 in their last 24 regular-season games under Rhett Lashlee.
The defense pressured TCU effectively, recording two sacks and six tackles for loss. Isaiah Nwokobia led with 10 tackles, and Jalen Davis-Robinson grabbed his second interception in as many games. SMU’s nine takeaways this season rank among the NCAA’s best.
The Mustangs showed balance and resilience, but the road win streak ended at 10 games.
