DALLAS, TECAS — The Battle for the Iron Skillet is set for one last showdown. SMU travels to Fort Worth on Saturday to face TCU in the 104th—and potentially final—meeting of the storied rivalry.
SMU (3-0) enters hot, coming off a 28-10 road win over Missouri State. TJ Harden ran for 96 yards and two touchdowns, while Yamir Knight tallied 107 all-purpose yards. The defense dominated with five sacks, three interceptions, and held the Bears to 0-for-12 on third down.
The Mustangs have now topped 400 yards of offense in three straight games and lead the nation in defensive touchdowns (2) and turnovers forced (8). Kevin Jennings is third in the ACC in passer rating (165.9), and receiver Key’Shawn Brinson ranks seventh nationally in receiving yards (314).
SMU has won 10 straight regular-season road games and 22 of its last 27 overall. Under Rhett Lashlee, the Mustangs are 31-13 and thrive when scoring 30 or more points (27-3).
Last year’s meeting was historic—SMU outgunned TCU 66-42 in the highest-scoring game in series history. TCU (2-0) has handled business in 2025 with wins over North Carolina and Abilene Christian.
The Iron Skillet dates back to 1915 and will be up for grabs one final time Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
