Denton, TX — North Texas dominated Washington State 59-10 in their first-ever meeting, improving to 3-0 for the first time since 2018.
UNT exploded early, jumping out to a 42-3 halftime lead—its largest ever over an FBS opponent. Redshirt freshman QB Drew Mestemaker threw four touchdowns and completed 24 of 29 passes, posting one of the most efficient outings in program history.
Fifteen players caught a pass, and three different running backs scored on the ground as UNT piled up four rushing touchdowns. The defense forced five first-half turnovers and held Washington State to just 10 points, the fewest allowed through three games since 1984.
Kicker Kali Nguma stayed perfect on PATs, extending his streak to 72 straight. With momentum and depth on both sides of the ball, UNT is off to a red-hot start under Eric Morris.
