FRISCO, TEXAS — The Cowboys are back home at AT&T Stadium, and the stakes are already high in Week 2. After a tough loss to the Eagles, Dallas is looking to get back on track Sunday against a familiar punching bag — the New York Giants.
Let’s be real: the Cowboys have owned this rivalry. They’ve won 15 of the last 16 matchups and ride an eight-game win streak over New York — their longest run against a division rival since steamrolling Washington in the early 2000s.
But dominance on paper doesn’t guarantee results on Sunday. Dallas must fix a few things fast — starting with protecting Dak Prescott. In his 10th NFL season, Prescott has carved up the NFC East with a 33-9 career record, second only to Patrick Mahomes in divisional wins among active quarterbacks.
On defense, it’s all about turning up the heat on Russell Wilson. The veteran QB looked shaky under pressure last week against Washington, and the Cowboys’ front seven should be licking their chops.
CeeDee Lamb will also be looking for a sharper performance. Despite a dropped pass, he made history last week by becoming the fastest Cowboy to 500 career receptions — and still put up 110 yards on seven catches.
Javonte Williams made a statement in his debut. Two rushing touchdowns, over 80% of the snaps, and a chance to make more history: with one more score, he’ll join Herschel Walker and Alvin Blount as the only Cowboys with three rushing TDs in their first two games.
Bottom line — Dallas has the talent, the numbers, and the home crowd. But after a Week 1 misfire, it’s time to prove it where it matters most.
