Rangers Drop Finale in Arizona, 2-0

PHOENIX — The Rangers couldn’t capitalize on scoring chances and dropped the series finale to the Diamondbacks, 2-0, on Wednesday.

Jack Leiter pitched well, striking out eight over six innings while allowing just one earned run. But a first-inning RBI single and a second-inning error by Jake Burger gave Arizona all the offense it needed.

Texas had runners on base throughout but went 0-for-6 with men in scoring position. The loss drops them two games out of the final AL Wild Card spot.

Next up: a crucial three-game series in Houston starting Friday.
