FRISCO, TEXAS — Dallas Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs is inching closer to a full return. After suffering a torn ACL in practice last September, Diggs officially passed his physical, removing him from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and opening the door for a potential Week 1 appearance.
The Cowboys have been cautious with Diggs throughout camp, but the former All-Pro has steadily ramped up his workload behind the scenes. With the green light now granted, Diggs is eligible to rejoin team drills and game preparation in the lead-up to the regular season.
Dallas opens the year on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Sept. 4 — a marquee divisional matchup that could now include one of the league’s premier ball hawks back in the secondary.
His return would bolster a Cowboys defense already stacked with talent and looking to make another run at a deep postseason push. While the final decision will depend on how he responds to the increased workload over the next week, momentum is clearly building for Diggs to be back on the field when it matters most.
