FRISCO, TEXAS— FC Dallas battled back once again, earning a 1-1 draw against LAFC on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium behind a first-half finish from Logan Farrington.
The 13th-minute equalizer was Farrington’s fifth goal of the season—his highest total yet—and tied him with Aleksey Korol (2000) for the second-most goals by a Dallas SuperDraft pick in a single MLS season. Midfielder Patrickson Delgado picked up the assist, his third of the year.
“It’s towards the end of the season now, and we know it’s crunch time,” Farrington said after the match. “So we know even setbacks, we can’t let them get us down too much. I thought the team responded very well. But we bounced back, got a goal right away, and I thought the first half we were really good. In the second half, we got a little bit more tired, but again, a lot of resilience from the team to hold out for a really good point at home.”
Rookie goalkeeper and hometown product Michael Collodi made four saves in his fifth MLS start, improving his record to 2-1-2 on the year.
Dallas now leads MLS in points recovered from losing positions, with 18 on the season. The club remains unbeaten in August (1-0-2) and holds a strong 4-1-2 record against LAFC at Toyota Stadium.
A standing-room-only crowd of 11,151 marked the club’s 30th straight home sellout, even as renovations continue on the stadium’s east side.
Next up, FC Dallas heads to face St. Louis CITY SC on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. CT from Energizer Stadium.
