FRISCO, TEXAS — While the Cowboys grind through camp in Oxnard, FC Dallas lit up Toyota Stadium with a 2-0 win over the Portland Timbers, extending their home sellout streak to 29 straight.
Petar Musa wasted no time, burying his 13th goal of the year in the eighth minute — his sixth in the last four matches. Lalas Abubakar sealed it in the 61st with a header off Sebastian Lletget’s corner, marking his first goal in Dallas colors.
Homegrown keeper Michael Collodi was rock-solid again, making three saves for his second shutout in just three MLS starts.
“We fought from start to finish,” head coach Eric Quill said. “Even with the lead, we stayed locked in, dealt with their wide play, and finished the job.”
Dallas heads to Austin on Aug. 16 for a Texas rivalry clash, riding the kind of momentum every team wants in August — Cowboys included.
