ARLINGTON, TEXAS — With the all-time series between Dallas and New York locked at 42 apiece, the Wings took the court looking to claim the edge. But the Liberty had other ideas, pulling away late in the fourth quarter to secure an 88-77 victory.

In a slow-paced first half, Dallas struggled to find offensive rhythm. The Wings came alive in the third quarter, outscoring New York 23-14 to pull within striking distance.

The final period, however, swung back in the Liberty’s favor.

After a tense back-and-forth stretch, costly fouls and missed opportunities down the stretch allowed New York to close it out.

Friday’s win gives the Liberty a 43-42 advantage in the all-time series.

Arike Ogunbowale paced Dallas with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.

For New York, Sabrina Ionescu posted 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.

The Wings return home Sunday to host the Washington Mystics at 3 p.m. CST.
