SMU’s Derrick McFall Named to Doak Walker Watch List

DALLAS, TEXAS — SMU running back Derrick McFall has been named to the 2025 Doak Walker Award Watch List, recognizing the top college running backs in the nation.

McFall, a redshirt freshman, made a strong impression in limited action last season—posting 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns in just five games. He opened his SMU career with a 69-yard, one-touchdown performance against Houston Christian.

The award, named after SMU legend Doak Walker, honors excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. The winner will be announced December 12.
