DALLAS — In front of a raucous crowd of 17,857—the second-largest home turnout in franchise history—the Dallas Wings couldn’t stop the Indiana Fever from completing a season sweep. Despite another standout performance from rookie Paige Bueckers, Dallas dropped its third game of the year to Indiana, 88-78, at American Airlines Center.
Bueckers poured in 22 points—her 12th 20-point performance of the season—and continues to rewrite the record books in her first year. She’s now tied with Odyssey Sims for second-most 20-point games by a Wings rookie, inching closer to Arike Ogunbowale’s franchise mark of 18.
But the Fever had answers at every turn. Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 23 points while Natasha Howard dominated the paint with 16 rebounds and a double-double effort. The Fever’s hot shooting from deep (12-of-28 from three) and a 44-30 rebounding edge proved too much for the Wings to overcome.
While Dallas’ offense had its moments—especially from the bench, which outscored Indiana’s reserves 31-21—the Wings couldn’t string together enough stops. The team shot just 2-of-15 from beyond the arc and trailed by double digits for much of the second half.
Teaira McCowan gave Dallas a spark with six points in limited minutes, and Myisha Hines-Allen added nine off the bench. Still, Indiana’s balance and execution kept the Wings playing catch-up.
Dallas drops to 8-21 with the loss. They’ll look to rebound Tuesday in New York against the Liberty, a team they’ve already beaten this season. Tip-off is at 6 p.m. CT.
