FRISCO, TEXAS — FC Dallas came up short in front of a sellout crowd on Independence Day, falling 2-1 to Minnesota United FC at Toyota Stadium. The loss drops Dallas to 5-9-6 (21 points), while Minnesota climbs to 10-4-7 (37 points).

Logan Farrington scored in the 73rd minute to cut the deficit, finishing off a setup from Petar Musa—his team-leading fourth assist. But two set-piece goals by Minnesota proved costly for a Dallas squad that has struggled recently in dead-ball situations.

Head coach Eric Quill called the defensive lapses “unacceptable,” pointing to mental errors and lack of focus as the difference. “It’s not tactics—it’s concentration,” Quill said. “That’s what’s beating us right now.”

The night also marked the debut of forward Sam Sarver, who came on in the 89th minute. The 21-year-old becomes the 37th player to appear for both FC Dallas and North Texas SC. He leads NTSC with 10 goals in 16 appearances this year.

A total of 11,004 fans filled Toyota Stadium, pushing the club’s home sellout streak to 27 straight matches. Dallas’ record on the Fourth of July now stands at 11-6-6.

Next, FC Dallas hits the road for two Western Conference battles—first against LAFC on July 12, followed by a trip to San Jose on July 16.
