ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Rookie JJ Quinerly made a statement in her first career start, posting 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists to lead the Dallas Wings past the Washington Mystics 79-71 at College Park Center.
Dallas (5-13) jumped out to a 28-9 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Quinerly set the tone early with eight points in the opening frame, while Myisha Hines-Allen and Aziaha James added key production off the bench — James finishing with 15 points and three triples.
The Wings held off a second-half push by Washington (8-9), led by Sonia Citron’s 22-point, 10-rebound double-double. But Dallas stayed in control thanks to strong rebounding (+15) and dominance in the paint (42-28).
Dallas has now won four of its last six, showing signs of life despite missing several starters.
