ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Dallas Wings turned up the intensity when it mattered most, pulling away in the second half to secure a 68-55 win over the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night.
Offense was hard to come by early, with both teams trading stops in a low-scoring first half. Dallas held a slim edge at the break, but came out of the locker room with renewed energy. A strong third quarter — fueled by key defensive plays and timely buckets — gave the Wings control and a 10-point cushion heading into the final frame.
Atlanta tried to claw back, but Dallas stayed composed, locking down on defense and closing the game out strong.
“Our energy and effort on the defensive end really made the difference,” said Arike Ogunbowale. “When we stay locked in and trust each other, we can win these close games.”
Ogunbowale led the Wings with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist.
Dallas Center, Li Yueru, added a dominant double-double, finishing with 10 points and 15 boards.
The Wings now turn their focus to Friday night, when they’ll host the Indiana Fever at American Airlines Center. Tipoff is set for 6:30 PM CST.
