Wings Trade for Center Li Yueru, Add Size and Experience

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Dallas Wings have acquired 6’7” center Li Yueru from the Seattle Storm in exchange for two future draft picks, Dallas’ 2026 second-round pick (with swap rights involving Connecticut) and a 2027 third-rounder (with swap rights involving Indiana).

Yueru gives Dallas a skilled interior presence with international experience. In nine games with Seattle this season, she’s shot 50% from deep and nearly 92% at the line. She played last season in Los Angeles, averaging 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds across 38 games, finishing third in the league in free-throw percentage.

Originally drafted by Atlanta in 2019, Yueru debuted in 2022 with Chicago after stints overseas. She’s also been a standout for the Chinese national team, leading them in scoring and rebounding at the 2024 Olympics—including a historic 31-point outing vs. Spain.

The move adds depth to Dallas’ frontcourt as they aim to stay competitive in the West.
