Rangers Take Series Finale Over Nationals

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas Rangers capped off the weekend with a 4-2 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday, fueled by big bats and sharp bullpen work.

Evan Carter and Jake Burger both came up a triple shy of the cycle. Carter launched a two-run homer in the second, while Burger added a solo shot in the eighth.

Texas used five pitchers in a bullpen game. Jacob Webb picked up the win, and Robert Garcia earned the save by closing out the final 1.1 innings.

Marcus Semien stayed hot, notching two hits and driving in the go-ahead run in the fifth. Jacob Latz started, striking out eight before leaving with a minor thumb issue.

Alex Call homered for Washington, who continued their offensive struggles with just six hits.

Next: Rangers head to Minnesota Tuesday with Tyler Mahle on the mound. The Nationals visit the Mets with MacKenzie Gore starting.
