Rangers Fall Flat in 5–1 Loss to Rays

TAMPA, FLA — The Texas Rangers couldn’t get much going offensively Tuesday night, falling 5–1 to the Tampa Bay Rays. Drew Rasmussen extended his MLB-best scoreless streak to 23 innings, limiting Texas to just one hit over five dominant frames.

Jake Burger was the lone bright spot for Texas, logging two of the team’s four hits and driving in their only run in the seventh. Starter Tyler Mahle gave up four earned runs over 5 1/3 innings as Tampa capitalized on timely hits and aggressive baserunning—including a rare steal of home by Junior Caminero.

Texas turns to Kumar Rocker on Wednesday, hoping to avoid a series loss.
