Rangers Drop Finale, Settle for Split with Astros

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Texas couldn’t hang onto a 3-0 lead on Sunday, falling 4-3 to Houston in the series finale at Globe Life Field. The Rangers settled for a split in the four-game set and saw their record when leading after seven innings fall to 24-2.

Jack Leiter was brilliant early, taking a no-hitter into the 7th and finishing with a career-high 7+ innings. He exited after two soft singles in the 8th, and Houston took advantage—Isaac Paredes launched a three-run homer off Robert Garcia to complete the comeback.

Texas scored all three of its runs in the 4th, highlighted by RBI hits from Josh Jung and Jake Burger. Jonah Heim added a sac fly and later stole his third base of the year.

Despite the loss, Texas finished 5-2 on the homestand and has won 7 of its last 9 games. The team travels to New York next for a six-game road trip against the Yankees and White Sox.
