Rangers Begin Home Series Against Rays Friday Night

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — The Texas Rangers return to Globe Life Field on Friday to open a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m. EDT, with Texas looking to build on its strong 5-2 start to the season.

Tyler Mahle takes the mound for the Rangers after a rough first outing, while Zack Littell starts for Tampa Bay following an efficient debut, despite taking the loss.

Texas has started the year well and aims to continue that momentum at home, where they posted a winning record last season. The Rays, also off to a solid start, have dealt with some inconsistency on the road and will look to turn that around in Arlington.

Both teams are missing key players due to injuries, including Josh Jung and Jon Gray for Texas, and Josh Lowe and Shane McClanahan for Tampa Bay.

The Rangers enter as slight favorites in what could be a competitive series opener.
