SMU Takes Back The Iron Skillet

DALLAS, TEXAS — Behind a new starting QB, Kevin Jennings, SMU defeated TCU 66-42 on Saturday at Gerald Ford Stadium.TCU never had a lead against the Mustangs. It seemed what set the tone of the game for SMU was the first fumble recovery following a touchdown where the Mustangs got a huge burst of momentum. SMU forced five total turnovers.

Jennings led the Mustangs with 137 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Braashad Smith had 18 rushes for 127 yards and three touchdowns.

Mustangs running back Braashard Smith knew the significance of this game but the TCU defense was so thing he was going to have to read well. Smith said, “I just knew I could get passed the linebackers and once I saw a gap I took it and ran with it.

SMU will be back at home in its first ACC game next Saturday, September 28th against Florida State. Tip off is set for 7pm CT.
