Kyrie Irving Game Winning Buzzer Beater Tops Mavericks Over Nuggets

DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks Guard Kyrie Irving left hook hook shot with 2.8 seconds remaining beat the Denver Nuggets 107-105. His buzzer beater is the first time a Maverick has recorded a game-winning buzzer beater against a defending champion in the last 25 years.

“It felt good. It’s a play that we work on during shootaround pretty often, so it felt good to execute. I had trust in my teammates out there and, in the end, being lucky enough to hit a left-hand floater. I looked at it after the game and I was pretty far out. Shots that I work on and just being ambidextrous and just trusting the skills that I work on,” said Irving on his game winning shot.

Irving recorded 24 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, three steals and one block against the Nuggets.

Luka Dončić recorded 37 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals against the Nuggets.
