Navy vs. SMU Preview

DALLAS, TEXAS — The American Athletic Conference is down to the wire entering Week 13. SMU is gearing up to take on Navy this Saturday, November 25th on the Mustangs home turf in hopes to take a spot in the AAC title game. The drama will be hot and heavy for the AAC this week! ESPN Analytics matchup predictor gives SMU a 96.1% chance to win. SMU’s 7-0 conference record is its best start in league play since the 1982 national championship team opened 7-0 in the Southwest Conference. The Mustangs (9-2) are seeking their first conference title since 1984.

The Mustangs have an efficient and productive offense but have shown some vulnerabilities in two of its last three games. They beat Memphis 38-34, and Rice 36-31, but Navy looks to make the Mustangs uncomfortable with its disciplined style and play.

SMU showed resilience though, against the Memphis Tigers as Memphis attempted to play keep away from SMU, and, for a half, the Tigers were succeeding. Eventually, the Mustangs overcame the sluggish start to remain unbeaten in league.

Kick off will be at Gerald Ford Field at 11am.
