TCU Still Bowl Eligible After 42-17 Win Over Baylor

Fort Worth, Texas -TCU dominated Baylor 42-17 in their final home game of the season. This also marked the first-ever Bluebonnet Battle Rivalry game between these two schools. TCU dominated the entire second half, but it was not always that way.

To start the game, TCU’s offense struggled, especially in the red zone, but after two back-to-back touchdowns, one coming from running back Emani Bailey and the other being an 81-yard touchdown from Jared Wiley, a spark was lit for this Horned Frog offense.

TCU’s defense also struggled in the first half, allowing the Baylor offense to convert on many 3rd downs, putting them in a good field position, and ultimately capitalizing to put some points on the scoreboard. The second half was a very different game, as Baylor quarterback Blake Shapen was feeling the pressure from the defense, leading to a lot of three-and-outs to get the ball back in the TCU offense’s hands.

Josh Hoover had another impressive night, going 24 for 29 with 412 yards and 2 touchdowns.

TCU’s bowl game hopes are still alive, but the final test will be next weekend when they travel to Norman to take on Oklahoma with one last shot at becoming bowl-eligible. Kick-off is set for 11:00 a.m.
