Wings Defeat The Defending WBNA Champion Aces

ARLINGTON, TX — The Dallas Wings returned home for a comeback win to end the Las Vegas Aces nine-game winning streak 80-78.

Arike Ogunbowale led the team with 21 points and 2 assist.

The Wings took an early lead that was lost, but saw success on the defensive side of the ball, not allowing Vegas to score on fast-break layups. Crystal Dangerfield came in clutch with a last second 2-pointer than would bring the Wings to one, 40-39 going into halftime.

Each time Dallas scored, Vegas had an answer and vice versa but the Wings were able to pull away by 2 in the last minute of the game.

Natasha Howard came up in the clutch with .4 seconds left after getting fouled on the putback and sunk both free throws to ice the game, 80-78.

Head Coach Latricia Trammell says her starters were phenomenally tonight but said do not underestimate the power off the bench this Dallas squad has.

“Don’t count out bench out,” said Trammell. “They came in and did something that a lot of people don’t notice. They did some of those non-negotiables that are big.”

UP NEXT: The Dallas Wings will hit the road to take on the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 3PM.
