XFL 2023: Arlington Renegades and DC Defenders Preview

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — It’s week 9 of the XFL season, and a very crucial game will take place between the Arlington Renegades and DC Defenders. The Defenders have already secured a spot in the playoffs; they are now just fighting for a better seed. But for Arlington, they need to take down the top team in the XFL standings in order to make it to the playoffs. Time is running out, and there is no room for mistakes on either team. This will be the first time these teams go head to head this season.

Last Saturday, the Renegades secured a much needed victory while playing on the road, defeating the Orlando Guardians and shutting them down in the final moments of the game. This win brought Arlingtons record to 4-4.

The Defenders record is 7-1 and they lead the XFL north in overall standings. They have won all their home games and will have home field advantage once again this Sunday.

Renegades head coach Bob Stoops stated on Wednesday that, “they have a new spark lit under them. Everything in practice is doing well not only but defensively but offensively. The chemistry with Perez is flowing and the rhythm is starting to show.” In previous weeks there was a lot of concern on what the Renegades were going to do to gain more points on offense but Stoops believes it will be a game to remember.
