No. 11 TCU Defeats Oklahoma In A 27 Point Win

FORT WORTH, TX — The start of another winning streak emerged in the Schollmaier Arena. TCU put their foot on the gas and never let up, defeating the Oklahoma Sooners 79-52.

Mike Miles led this game with 23 points and 3 rebounds.

In the first half TCU could not be stopped and OU fell under the pressure.

Oklahoma started slow and TCU capitalized on some of their early mistakes: loose balls, missed layups, and early turnovers.

For TCU they were able to hold OU to twenty-eight percent from the field and Mike Miles was able to put 17 points on the board, leading the team into the half 44-27.

Mike Miles said post game that the same intense defense they had against Kansas they wanted to translate into tonight’s game.

“We’re riding high right now,” said Mike Miles. “We wanted to keep that same intensity we had in the Kansas game.”

In the second half TCU’s intensity did not stray away and OU was unable to put up points until seven minutes into the second half.

Head Coach Jamie Dixon said that although these wins are great there is always room to be better.

“We played the last three games without Eddie and Micah. We can be better,” said Dixon. “We’re not done improving.”

TCU is now 16-4 and will hit the road to the Big 12/SEC challenge and face Mississippi St. Tip-off is at 3 p.m.
