SMU vs Memphis Storyline Preview

DALLAS, Texas — SMU will host Memphis for their senior day. This will be their seventh conference game of the season. The Mustangs are currently 4-3 in conference play, having lost to South Florida last week.

Quarterback Tanner Mordecai announced his decision to enter the NFL Draft, which means he will walk against Memphis.

In speaking with the media earlier this week, Tanner said, “I made some of the best friends of my life here, and this year has been nothing short of awesome too.”

Mordecai is a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award, is fifth in the country for 26 big time throws, and set a school and conference record.

Despite having a quarterback like Tanner, SMU still seemed to struggle keeping the game winning momentum on both sides of the ball. Defensive Coordinator Scotty Symons told reporters earlier this week that Saturday’s game will determine what kind of team they are.

“This season to me will be defined in large part by what we do on Saturday,”
