SMU vs Houston Preview

DALLAS, TEXAS — SMU to host Houston Wednesday night, a match up featuring the 1st and 2nd ranked teams in this weeks’ American Athletic Conference standings.

The nationally ranked Cougars led the AAC, followed by the Mustangs. SMU has had a great year overall but come off a loss to Wichita State on the road. The Mustangs are 16-5 overall and 7-2 in the American. UH has won their last 12 games straight, undefeated so far in the AAC (9-0). The Cougars 2 loses have been by 2 points or less.

The AAC schedules each opponent twice, so these teams will see each other again later this month, but this one will be crucial for the regular season conference title.  Conference play continues through the beginning of March, followed by the AAC Tournament in Fort Worth, March 10th-13th.

The Mustangs remain unbeaten through 11 games in Moody Coliseum so far this season. The showdown tips at 6 pm CT, televised nationally on ESPN2.
