Chuck O’Bannon Jr. Leads TCU To A 77-68 Victory Over No. 19 LSU

FORT WORTH, TX – TCU bounced back to their old way of things today as they defeat No. 19 LSU .

The Frogs came out in the first half and played solid defense the entire 20 minutes. What set them apart was their rebounding. They outrebounded LSU 26-16 in the first quarter and had a lot of second chance points off the rebound game.

What also stood out was the poise they had on defense. LSU had three offensive fouls in the first half due to TCU being at the right place at the right time.

The Frogs were also shooting exceptionally well, way better than they were against Texas. The Frogs shot 52 percent from the floor in the first half while LSU only shot 28 percent from the floor.

Frogs went on a 15-5 run to end the half  and TCU went into the locker room with a nine-point lead, 38-29.

The second half was led by Chuck O’Bannon Jr. who had back-to-back-to-back three-pointers putting TCU up 50-36 with 15 minutes ramining in the half.

LSU weaseled their way back into the game getting within five with 10 minutes remaining in the game. It became a dog fight and both teams were going at it. The Tigers came back within one-point of TCU and they did that by outrebounding TCU in the second half.

Mike Miles turned it up late in the second half and added eight points to his already 11 in the final five minutes to lead TCU to a victory. Miles ended the night with 19 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Chuck O’Bannon Jr. had 19 points, and six rebounds and shot three-of-four from the three point line.

TCU will head to Oklahoma to play the Sooners on 1/31 at 8:00 PM.
