DALLAS, TEXAS — The Mustangs enter their conference play home opener 10-3 overall and 1-0 in American Athletic Conference play. SMU played extremely well down the stretch of their non-conference schedule, winning 6 straight games. SMU opened their AAC schedule at Tulsa Tuesday night, beating the Golden Hurricanes 74-69. UCF heads to Dallas 1-0 in conference play and 9-2 overall. The Knights come off a big win over Michigan on Thursday.

Statistically, SMU leads the AAC in 3-pointers made and 3-point shooting percentage. Point Guard, Kendric Davis leads the conference in scoring, averaging over 20 points per game and free throw percentage. Davis earned pre-season all conference 1st team honors and made several national award watch lists. Against Tulsa, Davis led the Mustangs scoring 26 points.

The Mustangs were picked 3rd in the American pre-season poll. Houston and Memphis are the teams to beat. Tip off will be at 1 pm CT in Moody Coliseum. The match up will be televised live on ESPNU and available on KAAM 770 AM radio.
