LOS ANGELES, CA — FC Dallas was defeated 2- 0 Wednesday night but not before putting up a hard defensive fight against the Los Angeles FC.

Los Angeles Forward Carlos Vela kicked off the game scoring in the fourth minute. Dallas Goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer did not make this an easy win for LAFC assisting with six saves to keep Dallas in the game.

In the second half, Maurer played hard defense at the goal but Los Angeles Forward Latif Blessing landed their second goal at the 69th minute making the last score of the night.

Maurer says why he feels the team was defeated today:
“We’re in the game for large stretches and then there’s mental breakdowns and not making the right moves as a team. It’s not just in the backline. Our whole team is not on the same page sometimes and then it breaks down and it opens us up, so we all have to be on the same page from the back and put the work in and not switch off in these moments that hurt us.”

FC Dallas next game will be at home at the Toyota Stadium on Sunday, June 27th against the New England Revolution.
