San Diego Padres Shutout Texas Rangers, 3-0

D210SPORTS

ARLINGTON, Texas — After defeating the Blue Jays in a 3 game series, the Rangers looked to do the same thing against the San Diego Padres. But history continued to be made in the new Globe Life stadium. Joe Musgrove of the Padres had a no-hitter through 8 innings pitched. And Rangers first time with a no-hit since 2007.

The game got off to a slow start until the top of the second. Padres; Meyers doubled to left, leading Hosmer to home base. Pham hit a fly out to center field. Meyers then got his reward by scoring after a throwing error from Rangers Center fielder Taveras. At the bottom of the second, it looked like the Rangers started to get in a rhythm offensively as each player landed their hits, the problem was they were all hit into the opposing team’s mit.

The Padres continued to build a lead as the Rangers continued to struggle at bat and on defense. At the top of the third Machado doubled to deep center leading Grisham to the home base. Joey Gallo was the only Ranger to reach base, while the Padres went home with this win the Rangers will now look to avenge themselves in tomorrow’s game.
