SMU MBB vs Wichita State Preview

DALLAS, Texas — The SMU Men’s Basketball are in Kansas to take on Wichita State Wednesday at 8 p.m. The first meeting as conference foes, SMU beat then-No. 7 Wichita State, 83-78.

This matchup first started in 1956, when SMU won 85-67. Last year was Wichita State’s first season in the AAC and SMU gave the team their first-ever conference loss with the 83-78 victory.

This will be the first of two match up this season against the Mustangs and WSU. With the Mustangs missing its best player Jarrey Foster due to an injury, communication is key for SMU.

A player to watch out for this game is forward Isiah Mike. Saturday nights win against Tulane, Mustangs Head Coach Tim Jankovich made the comment he had to pull Mike out so he doesn’t set a Moody record for most turnovers in a game. Jankovich also stated with Mike getting pulled out, it gave him more confidence in the game and hopefully something we can see for this match up.
