Clemson Advances To CFP Title Game To Take On Alabama

ARLINGTON, Texas — Clemson beat Notre Dame 30-3 Saturday in the College Football Playoff semifinal to advance to the national championship game against Alabama on Jan. 7. The No. 2 Clemson Tigers routed No. 3 Notre Dame 30-3 in the first of the College Football Playoff semifinals Saturday afternoon to advance to their third national championship in four years.

Clemson and Notre Dame both started slow, and while Notre Dame struggled throughout, the Tigers hit their stride in the second half, scoring three touchdowns to blow the game wide open. Even without Dexter Lawrence, Clemson’s defense was a beast all game, forcing two turnovers, recording six sacks, and holding Notre Dame to 248 total yards and a conversion rate of 5-for-17 on third downs.

Clemson freshman QB Trevor Lawrence was 27-for-40 for 327 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

Clemson takes on Alabama January 7th for College Football Nation Championship.
