Hicks Named To Touchdown Club Of Columbus 2018 Players To Watch List

COLUMBUS, Ohio (SMU) – SMU rising junior Ben Hicks is one of eight quarterbacks to be named to The Touchdown Club of Columbus 2018 Players To Watch List, the organization has announced.

Hicks helped lead the Mustangs to seven wins in 2017, as well as the team’s first bowl appearance since 2012. He also became the Mustangs’ all-time leader in career passing touchdowns with 52.

In 13 games, Hicks threw for a program-record 33 touchdowns and 3,569 yards, second in a season at SMU. Hicks registered four touchdowns on five occasions, including the final three games of the regular season.

Hicks is second on SMU’s career passing yards list at 6,499, while ranking third in touchdowns responsible for (55) and fourth in total offense (6,463).

The exclusive group of student athletes selected as TDC 2018 Players To Watch will be introduced during the 63rd Touchdown Club of Columbus Awards on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at Express Live! in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Visit www.tdccolumbus.com for additional information.

The Mustangs open the 2018 season Saturday, Sept. 1 at North Texas. Also included on SMU’s 2018 schedule are non-conference games against TCU (Sept. 8) and Houston Baptist (Sept. 22) at Ford Stadium and Michigan on the road (Sept. 15).
