Sydney Staples was raised in Front Royal, Virginia. She played Division I soccer at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she majored in Journalism and minored in Business, Marketing and Graphic Design. She then got her master's degree at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications on the Sports Media and Communications track.
Sydney has worked as a soccer analyst for ACC Network, a beat reporter for Sports Illustrated's Syracuse Orange on FanNation, and interned as an NFL Training Camp reporter for the Green Bay Packers. She was also a member of FOX Sports University's winning team that created a marketing campaign for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
