DALLAS, Texas — Dallas Trinity FC did just enough to keep its postseason footing intact, but not quite enough to secure all three points.
Dallas played to a 2-2 draw against Lexington SC on Wednesday night, extending its recent run of form while maintaining a top-four position in the Gainbridge Super League standings.
The result keeps Trinity unbeaten in nine of its last 10 league matches (5-1-4), a stretch that has solidified the club’s push toward the playoffs. With the league’s top four teams advancing, Dallas remains in position despite the missed opportunity at home.
Midfielder Lexi Missimo sparked the hosts early in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 55th minute for her second goal of the season. The tally matches her output from last year’s injury-shortened campaign and provided a needed lift after a tightly contested opening half.
Defender Lauren Flynn delivered what looked to be a decisive moment in the 79th minute, finishing off an attacking sequence to notch her second goal in just five appearances this season.
But Lexington refused to fade, capitalizing on its attacking pressure to earn the equalizer and split the points.
Forward Chioma Ubogagu, a Coppell native, continued her playmaking form with her fourth assist of the season. The veteran attacker reached a notable milestone in the process, becoming just the third player in league history to record double-digit assists.
Dallas showed its depth throughout the match, with 16 players seeing the field. Academy product Caroline Swann made her first professional start, while recently signed defender Sydney Cheesman debuted late as a substitute.
Statistically, the match reflected its balance. Lexington held a slight edge in possession at 51.6%, while also outshooting Dallas 9-8 and placing five attempts on target compared to Trinity’s three.
At home, Dallas now sits at 4-2-3 this season and moves to 1-1-2 against Lexington in the current campaign. Historically, Trinity still holds the advantage in the series at 5-1-2.
With momentum still on its side, Dallas will look to turn draws into wins as the playoff race tightens in the weeks ahead.
