MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The scoring streak lives on, but the win column did not move for the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

Dallas topped the 100-point mark for the 41st consecutive game — the franchise’s third-longest such run — but couldn’t keep pace with the Memphis Grizzlies in a 124-105 loss.

The Mavericks showed flashes offensively, yet Memphis controlled the tempo for much of the night and created separation down the stretch.

Williams Stays Steady

Brandon Williams continued his strong stretch, leading Dallas with 16 points while adding eight rebounds and four assists. It marked his fourth straight game with at least 15 points, matching the longest such run of his career — a mark he also set earlier this season.

Williams, who came in averaging a career-best 12.9 points per game, has now scored in double figures in nine of his last 10 contests. Over that span, he’s averaging nearly 15 points while taking on increased playmaking duties.

Frontcourt Production

Dwight Powell delivered one of his most complete outings of the season, finishing with 13 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the year and the 24th of his career.

Daniel Gafford was highly efficient, pouring in 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting while protecting the rim with two blocks. It was his 14th double-digit scoring performance this season and one of his most efficient games in extended minutes.

Rookie AJ Johnson added 12 points, three rebounds and four assists, marking back-to-back double-digit games for the first time in his Mavericks tenure.

Former Mav Makes Noise

Memphis received a boost from a familiar face. Olivier-Maxence Prosper, facing his former team, recorded his first career double-double with 16 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.

Cam Spencer erupted for 25 points — the second-highest total of his young career — while Scotty Pippen Jr. set the tone early with nine first-quarter points, his highest-scoring quarter of the season.

Dallas will look to regroup as it aims to extend its 100-point streak and, more importantly, get back in the win column.Ads do not influence the answers you get from ChatGPT. Your chats stay private. Learn about ads and personalization
