FRISCO, Texas (Feb. 28, 2026) — There were no fireworks on the scoreboard Saturday night, but there was no shortage of grit.
FC Dallas and Nashville SC played to a 0-0 draw at Toyota Stadium, a result that leaves both clubs at 1-0-1 (four points) through two matches. For Dallas, it marked the club’s first shutout of the 2026 campaign and a steady close to February at home.
Dallas leaned on its defensive structure against a Nashville side that entered the night brimming with attacking confidence. The back line held firm, limiting clean looks and showing the kind of organization head coach Eric Quill has emphasized early in the season.
Shaq Moore, facing his former club, wore the captain’s armband for the first time this year. The veteran defender, who spent three seasons in Nashville, helped anchor a back line that absorbed first-half pressure before settling into the match.
The hosts created opportunities but lacked a cutting edge in the final third. Nashville’s goalkeeper came up with a pair of key stops, and several Dallas chances fizzled before turning into true threats.
“We battled,” Quill said postgame. “But we weren’t clean enough in possession. We know there’s another level for us.”
Midfielder Christian Cappis pointed to the defensive response as a step forward.
“They’re a strong attacking group,” Cappis said. “To keep them off the board shows growth. We worked for each other tonight.”
Defender Osaze Urhoghide echoed that sentiment, highlighting improved communication and timely tackles. “We’re growing together,” he said. “But at home, we want three points.”
The match also featured a pair of milestones. Attacking midfielder Joaquín Valiente made his club and league debut in the 62nd minute after joining Dallas earlier this month. Sam Sarver followed with his season debut in the 71st.
Off the field, the club’s momentum continued. Dallas extended its regular-season sellout streak to 36 straight matches, drawing 11,004 fans. Including postseason play, the streak now stands at 37 consecutive MLS home games — the longest in club history.
Next up, Dallas hits the road for the first time this season with a trip to Los Angeles Football Club on March 7 at BMO Stadium.
Two matches in, the foundation appears solid. The finishing touch, however, remains a work in progress.
