DALLAS — The roll keeps getting louder for the Dallas Stars.
A 4-1 win over the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday night stretched Dallas’ streak to seven games, matching the second-longest run in franchise history and reinforcing the rhythm they carried into the Olympic break.
The Stars wasted no time picking up where they left off.
They scored first for the seventh consecutive game during the streak and have spent just over 22 minutes trailing in that entire span. The formula has been simple: fast starts, layered defense and special teams that tilt the ice.
And once again, it was Wyatt Johnston driving the story.
Johnston buried his 19th power-play goal of the season, setting a new Dallas single-season record and surpassing Mike Modano, who scored 18 with the club in its first year in Texas. The 21-year-old also added another goal at even strength, continuing a breakout campaign that has him climbing the franchise record book.
“It’s pretty cool,” Johnston said. “He did so much for this organization. You see the statue outside — it’s a huge honor.”
Johnston now sits three power-play goals shy of the overall franchise mark set by Dino Ciccarelli and has quietly become one of the league’s most dangerous finishers with the man advantage. He also moved into fourth among all NHL skaters in career goals against Seattle, scoring his eighth and ninth against the Kraken.
Dallas (13-1-1 all-time vs. Seattle) has owned the matchup, winning nine straight against the Kraken dating back to December 2023 and outscoring them 29-10 in that stretch.
The supporting cast delivered again.
Matt Duchene recorded a goal and an assist, pushing his personal point streak to seven games (7 goals, 4 assists). He said the key coming out of the break was attention to detail.
“Usually the team that gets to their game right away wins those ones,” Duchene said. “I thought we were in control from the start.”
On the back end, Thomas Harley posted two assists to extend his point streak to four games, matching a career high. He now has nine points in his last nine outings.
Miro Heiskanen added another assist, stretching his assist streak to four games and giving him 11 helpers in his last nine contests. Against Seattle, Heiskanen has been especially steady, producing at better than a point-per-game pace in the series.
Esa Lindell chipped in an assist as well, continuing his consistent production against the Kraken.
Head coach Glen Gulutzan liked the emotion and edge his team brought after time away.
“There’s a fabric to the way we want to play — physicality, emotion, sticking up for each other,” Gulutzan said. “I thought we had that before the break and brought it right back tonight.”
That edge surfaced in the third period when Dallas players responded to hits on Heiskanen, a sign of the cohesion Duchene said has grown within the room.
“You need that,” Duchene said. “We’ve talked about it, and it was really good by those guys.”
The result: seven straight wins, first place-level confidence, and a group that looks anything but rusty after the pause.
For now, the Stars aren’t just stacking victories — they’re setting standards.
