FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas added depth to its attack Friday, signing midfielder Joaquín Valiente from Defensor Sporting Club on a deal through the 2027-28 season with club options through 2030.
The 24-year-old joins after a 2025 loan with Barcelona Sporting Club in Ecuador, where he made 48 appearances with five goals and six assists across all competitions.
Valiente began his professional career with Defensor, helping the club earn promotion before totaling 79 appearances, 10 goals and 19 assists in Uruguay’s top division. He also helped secure Copa AUF Uruguaya titles in 2023 and 2024.
He becomes just the third Uruguayan player in FC Dallas/Dallas Burn history and will occupy an international roster spot pending visa and transfer clearance.
