CeeDee Lamb Signals Willingness to Rework Deal as Cowboys Look to Keep George Pickens

FRISCO, Texas — CeeDee Lamb’s impact on the Cowboys extends beyond his production on Sundays. The All-Pro receiver has indicated he is open to modifying the structure of his contract if it helps Dallas maintain its offensive firepower, including keeping wide receiver George Pickens in the fold.

The pairing of Lamb and Pickens quickly became one of the league’s most difficult matchups for opposing defenses during the 2025 season. Together, the two surpassed 2,500 receiving yards, giving quarterback Dak Prescott multiple high-end targets capable of changing games in different ways.

Pickens thrived in his first season with Dallas after arriving in a trade with Pittsburgh. The physical pass catcher turned in career-best numbers, hauling in 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns. His 15.4 yards-per-catch average highlighted his ability to stretch the field, and his performance earned him a Pro Bowl selection while cementing his role as a centerpiece in Dallas’ passing attack.

Lamb, already established as Prescott’s primary option, continued to demonstrate elite route-running and playmaking ability in space. His willingness to adjust his contract would likely involve shifting financial terms to provide salary cap relief rather than sacrificing overall earnings, a strategy often used by teams attempting to sustain championship-caliber rosters.

Dallas has prioritized surrounding Prescott with reliable and explosive targets, and maintaining continuity between Lamb and Pickens would preserve a key strength of the offense. While discussions remain ongoing and no official move has been announced, Lamb’s stance reflects a veteran leader focused on team success as the Cowboys continue positioning themselves as contenders in the NFC.
