COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Dallas Stars controlled much of the night but couldn’t solve Jet Greaves, falling 1-0 to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday.
Greaves stopped all 28 shots he faced for his third career shutout as Dallas outshot Columbus 28-22 and spent extended time in the offensive zone. The difference came early, when Zach Werenski scored at 8:48 of the first period, slipping a wrist shot through traffic for his 19th goal of the season.
Casey DeSmith made 21 saves to keep the Stars within reach, but Dallas’ recent scoring struggles continued with its fourth loss in the last five games. Mason Marchment returned to the lineup after missing eight games with an upper-body injury.
The Stars head home to face St. Louis on Friday night looking to get back on track.
