ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Renegades are turning to longtime college coach Rick Neuheisel to lead the franchise, naming him head coach to replace Bob Stoops, who retired earlier this month after three seasons.
Neuheisel brings nearly 40 years of coaching experience across college and professional football. He previously served as head coach at Colorado, Washington and UCLA, posting an 87-59 collegiate record that includes a Pac-10 championship and Rose Bowl victory with Washington in 2000 and a Pac-12 South title at UCLA in 2011. He also coached in the Alliance of American Football in 2019, guiding the Arizona Hotshots to a 5–3 record.
A former UCLA quarterback and Rose Bowl Hall of Fame member, Neuheisel also has USFL and NFL playing experience, along with time as an NFL assistant with the Baltimore Ravens. He will continue his role as a national college football analyst while taking over in Dallas.
Neuheisel inherits a Renegades program coming off a successful run under Stoops and will be tasked with keeping Dallas among the UFL’s contenders heading into the upcoming season.
