FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU extended its early-season momentum with an 80-56 victory over Florida A&M on Sunday afternoon at Schollmaier Arena, showcasing a dominant second-half performance.
The Frogs improved to 6-3 at home while continuing their strong track record under coach Jamie Dixon, now 93-21 in November-December games and 112-20 against nonconference opponents, including a remarkable 75-7 at home. TCU also leads the all-time series with Florida A&M 2-0.
Despite shooting just 25% from the field in the first half, TCU’s hot free-throw shooting (86.4%) and a commanding presence on the boards helped swing the game. The Frogs outrebounded the Rattlers 43-25, including 23-8 after halftime, maintaining their streak of success when controlling the glass.
Xavier Edmonds led the charge with a season-high 21 points, 15 of them in the second half, marking his second time leading the team in scoring this season. Edmonds was 7-of-9 from the field, tying his season best in made baskets. David Punch contributed 10 points and led the team on the boards for the eighth consecutive game with eight rebounds, adding a blocked shot to his stat line.
Brock Harding delivered seven assists—his most in four games—while tying his career high with six rebounds. Tanner Toolson also reached a season-high seven rebounds, continuing a three-game streak of personal bests. Off the bench, RJ Jones tied a career high with 14 points, shooting 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, while freshman Kayden Edwards hit a season-best two three-pointers. Robinson added 10 points, reaching double figures for the sixth time this season.
The Frogs’ 28-point scoring margin in the second half highlighted a complete performance, balancing sharp shooting, rebounding, and depth to overpower Florida A&M.
