DALLAS — The Dallas Stars didn’t have their sharpest night, but they extended their point streak to 10 games with a 3–2 shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday at American Airlines Center. The Stars are now 8-0-2 during the stretch, matching their longest run since early 2025 and marking just the second time in franchise history they’ve produced two 10-game point streaks in the same calendar year.
Dallas also picked up its fourth straight home victory, leaning again on special teams and goaltending. The Stars’ penalty kill stayed perfect, going 2-for-2 and stretching their run to eight consecutive games without a power-play goal allowed.
Jake Oettinger stopped 27 shots and went 3-for-3 in the shootout, pushing his personal win streak to six games and improving to 6-1-0 in his career against Pittsburgh.
“It wasn’t our best game,” head coach Glen Gulutzan said. “But we found a way and we’ll take it.”
Miro Heiskanen forced overtime with a game-tying goal in the final 1:49, extending his goal streak to three games. Mikko Rantanen assisted on the equalizer, pushing his point streak to six, then delivered the deciding shootout goal — the sixth of his career, tying him with Teemu Selänne among Finnish skaters.
“It wasn’t our best, especially early,” Rantanen said. “But Jake made big saves, Miro got the big one late, and we found a way.”
Jamie Benn added a second-period goal, extending his point streak against Pittsburgh to five games.
Matt Duchene and Nils Lundkvist returned to the lineup after long absences, with Gulutzan praising both for stepping back into a fast-paced game.
Pittsburgh, which earned points in five of six on its road trip, left frustrated after controlling large stretches.
“We’re disappointed,” Penguins coach Dan Muse said. “We played well enough to get two points.”
Even on an off night, the Stars’ consistency and late-game poise proved enough to stretch one of the league’s hottest runs.
