FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU couldn’t hold an 11-point first-half lead and fell 87–85 in overtime to Notre Dame on Friday at Schollmaier Arena.
The Frogs shot 63% before halftime but cooled after the break, allowing the Irish to climb back and trade blows throughout a tight second half. David Punch scored a career-high 20 points and briefly put TCU ahead late, but Jalen Haralson’s step-back jumper with under three seconds left forced overtime.
Notre Dame controlled the extra frame at the free-throw line as TCU went just 2-of-7 from the field. Punch had a last look in the post but couldn’t convert.
Jayden Pierre added 17 points with four threes, Brock Harding finished with 12 points and eight assists, and Micah Robinson added 13. Seven Frogs hit from deep in the loss.
TCU plays North Texas on Sunday in the US LBM Coast-to-Coast Classic at Dickies Arena.
