DETROIT — The Cowboys piled up yards and records, but it wasn’t enough in a 44–30 loss to the Lions on Thursday night.
Dak Prescott threw for 376 yards and became just the third quarterback in NFL history to surpass 5,000 passing yards on Thursday games. CeeDee Lamb posted a season-high 121 yards before leaving in the third quarter with a concussion, and Javonte Williams crossed 1,000 rushing yards on the season with 67 more and a touchdown.
Brandon Aubrey continued his historic pace, drilling all five field goals — including three from 55-plus yards — becoming the first kicker ever to do so in one game. His 63-yarder gave him a league-record three makes from 60-plus this season and pushed him to 100 career field goals in just 47 games, tying the fastest mark in NFL history.
Dallas still totaled 417 yards for a third straight week but couldn’t slow Detroit’s surge, highlighted by three touchdowns from Jahmyr Gibbs and 92 yards from Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Next up: Dallas returns home to face Minnesota next Sunday night.
