Cowboys Hold Off Chiefs in Thanksgiving Shootout to Extend Win Streak

ARLINGTON, Texas — Dallas didn’t just win a holiday shootout — it continued rewriting its own history.

The Cowboys outlasted the Kansas City Chiefs 31–28 on Thanksgiving at AT&T Stadium, pushing their record to 6–5–1 and extending a home streak that’s quietly spanned generations. Dallas has now beaten Kansas City six straight times in Arlington dating back to 1983, the franchise’s second-longest active home run against any opponent.

It came on a day when the Cowboys once again leaned on the arm of Dak Prescott. The veteran quarterback delivered another sharp performance, completing 27 of 39 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns — his league-leading fourth 300-yard game of the season. Dallas has now thrown for at least 230 yards in 11 straight outings, the longest stretch in franchise history.

“We can be whatever we want to be. Everything’s in front of us,” Prescott said after the win, his team’s third straight. “All these wins have just given us more confidence. This brotherhood is as strong as I’ve been around. We’re playing elite complimentary football, but we’ve got to keep pushing. What’s ahead matters more than what’s behind.”

CeeDee Lamb led the passing attack with seven catches for 112 yards and a touchdown, while George Pickens added six receptions for 88 yards, pushing him to a career-high 1,142 receiving yards this season.

The Cowboys rolled up 457 total yards — their sixth 400-plus-yard performance of 2025, the most in the NFL — and continued their tradition of Thanksgiving success, improving to 35-22-1 all-time on the holiday.

Defensively, Dallas delivered its share of crucial stops, holding Kansas City to 5-for-13 on third down (38.5%). Jadeveon Clowney helped anchor the effort with two sacks, continuing what has been one of the most productive stretches of his career.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer praised Clowney’s impact afterward.

Pursuit is relentless, man. I mean he just doesn’t stop, Clarence, he just doesn’t stop. And he’s got such a good assortment of moves and counters… his counter moves and feel for the game is what you’d expect from an elite veteran player. But yeah, he’s playing incredible football right now.

The Cowboys added 10 points in the second quarter — raising their season total in that frame to an NFL-best 146 — and leaned on late-game execution to close out the Chiefs’ final push.

Next up is a trip to Detroit, where Dallas will face the Lions in another critical NFC matchup with playoff implications.

Prescott made it clear the focus must remain sharp.

“We’ve still put ourselves in a tough position,” he said. “These wins don’t mean we’re out of it. Next week is just as important as this one.”

If Thursday was any indication, the Cowboys are beginning to look like a team finding its stride at just the right time.
