Stars blitz Oilers 8–3 behind explosive first period

EDMONTON — Dallas buried Edmonton early with a four-goal opening period and rolled to an 8–3 win Tuesday night.

Wyatt Johnston led the attack with a four-point game, Nathan Bastian scored twice, and Jamie Benn hit the 400-goal milestone. Jason Robertson added a goal and two assists as the Stars moved to 7-1-1 in their last nine.

Edmonton got goals from Evan Bouchard, Jack Roslovic, and rookie Connor Clattenburg, but the Oilers never recovered after Stuart Skinner gave up four goals on eight shots.

Jake Oettinger made 22 saves, and Johnston logged his 100th career assist.

Next: Dallas finishes its trip in Seattle on Wednesday.
